1. On February 27th, 2001, PBS NOVA will present "Cancer Warriors", featuring the research work being done
at Harvard Medical School, led by the famous cancer researcher Dr. Jonah Folkman. One of the team members, Dr. Robert D'Amato, MD, Ph.D., is this Foundation's Science and Research Advisor and is one of the world's
leading authorities on macular degeneration. The researchers have intensified their work in studies of the use of ANGIOGENESIS INHIBITORS, drugs that may provide benefit for people who have cancer, rheumatoid arthritis or
macular degeneration.

2. New trials have begun to investigate if angiogenesis inhibitors can effectively inhibit the growth of new
vessels in age-related macular degeneration.
